These exceptional objects combine a Minute Repeater movement with exceptional engraving and enamelling. The 5 pieces are crafted to the superlative standards of Parmigiani Fleurier and meet the highest standards available on the market for both movement and craftsmanship. The enamel is hand-polished to create a contrast between volume and pattern, while hand-engraving ensured that the Rose Carrée pattern was aligned on the caseband, bezel and caseback of the watch. It generates a striking light effect that visually resembles diamonds. The brown dial is hand-engraved to obtain a grained surface, before receiving 4 layers of enamel, while the cover receives 6. The surfaces are also hand-polished. Each of these unique pieces represents a challenge: the combination of the enameled caseback and the engraving of the La Rose Carrée motif in order to guarantee the harmonious sound of the striking system within a waterproof case. The case is shaped around the movement to have total integration. Particular care has been taken with the resonance of the gongs in the cathedral; the back and the middle have been hollowed out to give free rein to the sound. The case middle also contains a special feature allowing the available volume to be increased even under the enamel dial. These reflections were carried out jointly to bring the sound to the same level of excellence as the aesthetics of this unique piece. The assembly of the movement in the middle is in itself a complexity in its own right. The location accommodating the movement is adjusted during the fitting phase. The movement is therefore in perfect tension to offer the most direct transmission possible. Finally, all the gongs, key element of the chime, are assembled to the case by screwing, always in search of a clear and limpid sound.
