For the second year running, Parmigiani Fleurier has committed to supporting the famous Locarno Film Festival as "Watchmaking Partner".

Encouraged by last year’s success, the partnership is promising some great surprises in store for this 66th Festival.

From the 7th to the 17th August 2013, the Piazza Grande in Locarno will once again stage this authentic celebration of international cinema. This legendary festival, which has been running since 1946, is one of the oldest of its kind and it is thanks to its strong values and this desire to engage in cultural exchange that it has gained a special place in the international scene.

This 66th festival is marked by an official recognition of this reputation earned over the years. For the first time, the Europa Cinema Label prize will be awarded at the Locarno Official Film Festival. In this way, the vibrant culture of the Ticino valley will join the closed circle of the great European festivals, such as Cannes, Venice, Berlin and Karlovy Vary. Nadia Dresti, Head of the international activities of the Locarno Film Festival and Ambassador for Parmigiani Fleurier as a Woman of Exception feels particularly honoured to see this new collaboration, which opens up new perspectives for development for the Festival.

Parmigiani Fleurier is joining in this celebration of recognition and has this year committed to bestow the “Lifetime Achievement Award – Parmigiani” to celebrate the exceptional career of someone who has made their mark in cinema history. This year, the English actress Jacqueline Bisset will be awarded for her fantastic career.
