Having partnered the Montreux Jazz Festival in the field of music since 2007, the Fleurier brand was hitherto lacking an alliance with the magic and exclusive world of film. There could be no more perfect association than the legendary Locarno film festival. Running since 1946, making it one of the oldest in the world of its kind, and enjoying an international aura of culture, the Locarno festival is also said to be the only one not to have let itself be swallowed up by communication and show business to the detriment of film. Film and culture have a firm hold of the limelight in the Ticino valley; nothing could deflect the Festival del Film Locarno from its fundamental values. Sharing this desire for uncompromising authenticity, Parmigiani Fleurier is proud to become this year the official watchmaking partner of the 65th edition of the Festival. The watchmaking brand has busied itself in setting up a Press Club – a structure previously lacking within the Piazza Grande enclosure – where the world’s journalists and media can meet, relax, exchange ideas and impressions of their latest viewings in an exclusive area.
